2013 Audi SQ5 TFSI |
Back in July, Audi announced the 2013 SQ5 TDI,
which is the first S model in Audi’s history to bear a diesel engine.
That’s all well and good, but what if you really want the new SQ5, but
are not a big diesel fan? Well, then you will have to wait for the
petrol version to debut. According to an electronic parts catalog, the
SQ5 will also be offered with a V-6 gasoline engine, starting in May of
2013.
The catalog reveals that the SQ5 will receive a
new supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that will deliver a total of 354
horsepower — a significant increase over the current diesel version’s
313 ponies. The new gasoline engine will be mated to the company’s new
eight-speed Tiptronic transmission and the obligatory Quattro permanent
all-wheel-drive system.
We don’t expect to see big
changes on the exterior of the vehicle, so it will most likely get the
same platinum gray single-frame grille with galvanized double bars in an
aluminum finish, modified bumpers, and a roof spoiler.
More details will follow shortly, so stay tuned!
